Thanks to the families who came on Sunday after a week without power, and to the Rose Family for organizing. We got a lot of messages done and out to people who will be cheered by all of your lovely thoughts (and art work)!
Just as an FYI if you didn’t see it before, the organization we are sending the artwork, quilt squares and letters to is: Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley . Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley is a nonprofit organization (501(c) 3 status) that exists to support the soldiers (and their families) from the Hudson Valley currently serving in the US Army, Navy and National Guard. Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley seeks to provide an emotional outlet for Marine/military parents of those in boot camp, active service, reserve status or those who have been recently discharged. They offer workshops for parents and troops, raise funds to help offset the costs of the care packages sent to the troops, and distribute three scholarships per year to those who have been discharged from active service or who continue in the reserves and have opted to further their education.
