About the Sharing Shelf
The Sharing Shelf collects new and gently used children’s clothing and other basic childrens items, such as strollers, school supplies and car seats. They distribute clothing to children in need at no cost to the children or their families. Agencies, teachers, social workers, religious leaders, and others serving low income families may register with The Sharing Shelf to access our supplies for their clients.
Below is a note from The Sharing Shelf outlining the activity for the day:
I would love for your group to come and help sort clothing as well as prepare packages of clothing for specific children in need. Each child receives a week’s worth of clothing matched into outfits and the volunteers on site that day will work with you to learn how to create these packs. I am so excited that you will be returning! Our new site is amazing and it’s a much easier environment for everyone to work in. There is also ample parking.
If anyone has been doing early spring cleaning they would of course love any donations…
The Sharing Shelf is DESPERATELY in need of winter clothing in sizes 4T through sizes 6 (toddler/early elementary school) and jeans/pants/sweats of all sizes. We are not collecting winter clothing for teen girls in sizes S or M (ie: girls who are 13 and up) or teen boys (same sizes) at this time EXCEPT the jeans/pants/sweats and outerwear. We also accept new or gently used clothing, pajamas, shoes, baby supplies, strollers, pack-n-plays, high chairs, unopened toys/diapers/wipes, bedding/linens, sheets, towels, blankets, new school or art supplies and backpacks, new or gently used children books, and coats, boots, hats and gloves in the winter. Items donated should be gently used, please no rips, tears, holes, stains, etc.
Please RSVP yes or no below so we can plan for the event. If you can’t attend the event but have items to donate, let Katie or Gretchen know and maybe we can coordinate taking items down for you.
